What is the Acer Swift 5?
The Swift 5 is Acer’s premium, mid-size, thin and light laptop and its 2018 update sees it jump from a 14-inch screen to a 15.6-inch screen, without becoming heavier or larger. That makes it the thinnest and lightest 15.6-inch laptop in the world, according to Acer.
At its recent Acer@Next press conference in New York, Acer showed off the new device but only in a non-functioning shell form. Read on to see the new device in pictures.
Acer Swift 5 – In Pictures
The chassis is built from a combination of magnesium-lithium alloy and magnesium-aluminium alloy allowing for the whole device to weight less than 1kg.
The laptop is set to feature the latest Intel processors, up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM, up to 1TB of SSD storage and its IPS screen carries a Full HD resolution.
Connectivity consists of one USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 2 port, two USB 3.1 Type-A ports, an HDMI port, and an SD card reader.
Acer Swift 5 – release date and price
The Acer Swift 5 price and release date haven’t been announced yet but it’s likely to cost a similar $800-$1400 as the current Acer Swift 5 and arrive in a few months time.
